Dog Training

A well-balanced dog is a joy to own – but they don’t always come like that, straight out of the box! Even experienced owners can find themselves at a loss when they first bring home a bouncy new pup, take on an unfamiliar breed or adopt a rescue dog with a troubled past.

A certified instructor from the National Dog Trainers Federation (CertIII), qualified behavioural biologist (BSc.) and postgraduate specialist in aggression (GradCert), Georgina has a treat-pouch full of tricks to get your pooch on the right path.

Puppies

There is something intoxicating about bonding with a new puppy!  Their fresh, quick young minds are amazing to work with, so don’t miss the chance to start your training the right way, right away!    Our safe, securely fenced training area at Taggerty is only accessible to our own, fully-vaccinated dogs and those we invite in to train, so it is 100% safe for new puppies, even if they haven’t quite finished their vaccinations.

One-on-one puppy training costs $50 per 30-minute session.

Adolescent and Adult Dogs

Some dogs have tendencies towards anxiety, reactivity or aggressive behaviours, whilst others are such keen workers at heart, they cast about wildly seeking something to focus on, causing friction in the household.  Some need long-term therapy to resolve a serious issue … others are simply seeking for a few pointers and some follow-up practice to make life at home more tranquil, and to clear communication roadblocks between two-legged and four-legged family members.

Your first 60-90 minute session will comprise a complete behavioural consultation including a thorough assessment of your dog; his history; your joint lifestyle and the behavioural issue in question.  It will also include all the instructions you need to get started on your training journey.

Subsequent 45-60 minute sessions can be pre-booked as a package (discounts available), or on an as-needed basis as you keep in touch with Georgina via telephone or email on your progress after session 1.

Sessions may take place at our home or yours, or at additional locations depending upon the issues at hand.  Georgina will work one-on-one with you and your dog to determine the approach best suited to you both, and provide ongoing phone or email support as needed.

The cost for the first session is $95, plus travelling.
