Last Sunday afternoon (the 8th) saw our first Obedience Classes for the year, with the most delightful of puppies enrolling in our special indoor Puppy PreSchool at Taggerty. A boisterously good time was had by all, with more entertainment… err… I mean, education… scheduled for next week!
Puppy PreSchool is proudly sponsored by the Taggerty Store, for which we are exceedingly grateful.
Meanwhile, we have several older puppies and dogs waiting in the wings, so our outdoor Obedience Classes will commence next Sunday, the 15th January. These will be sponsored by the Taggerty Primary School, and supervised, of course, by our in-house obedience pro, Fergal!
Our special Behavioural Consultations are proving tremendously rewarding, and Kimberley, social therapist extraordinaire, is displaying her sophisticated skills by helping special dogs with social problems learn proper puppy etiquette. Just this week, Frank, the rescued Pomeranian, has taken the first steps along the path towards a calmer, more sociable future…
Meanwhile, Georgina is intent on furthering her own ‘schooling’, having been accepted into a new postgraduate program in Canine Science at the University of New England. UNE’s new program is, in fact, the first in the world to offer comprehensive scientific and practical training in the management of domestic dogs at such a high academic level, and will complement Georgina’s existing qualifications wonderfully. She can’t wait to begin!
(Fear not, these studies will not interfere with her availability for In The Pink and our treasured clients… with the joys of modern technology, much of the course will be completed online via distance education).
And just to make today our day, hot off the presses this afternoon is our local newspaper’s enthusiastic coverage of In The Pink‘s establishment, complete with a team photo! Many thanks to the Editor of The Standard for being so very kind!
All in all, 2012 is looking great… so watch this space!
